Voter registration

You may register to vote by filling out a voter registration form at any driver licensing office.

Registration requirements

To register, you must:

  • be a citizen of the U.S.
  • be a resident of the state of Washington.
  • be at least 18 years old by election day.

You may NOT register to vote if you have a felony conviction on your record or have been declared mentally incompetent and ineligible to vote.

Moving? Update your voter registration

If you move to a new address in Washington State, you will need to update your voter registration before you can vote.

If you move to a new county, update your information by completing a new voter registration form at a driver licensing office.

If you move within the same county, update your information:

  • by completing a new voter registration form at a driver licensing office.
  • OR
  • by contacting your county auditor by mail, email, or phone.
