How to change your name
If you have officially changed your name and would like your new name to appear on your Enhanced Driver License or ID Card (EDL/ID):
- Visit one of our EDL/ID office locations.

- before January 1, 1968, contact the county auditor where you got the license.
- Note: We cannot accept Internet printouts, temporary documents, or documents that have been altered in any way.
- Pay the $10 fee to get an EDL/ID with your new name.
How to change your address
After moving, you have 10 days to change your address on your Enhanced Driver License or ID Card (EDL/ID). To change your address:
- Visit a driver licensing office.
- Show us your current EDL/ID.
- Show us proof of residence with your new address on it.
- Pay the $10 fee to get an EDL/ID with your new address.
Don’t forget your vehicle registration
You may also need to change your address on your vehicle registration. Updating your name or address on your EDL/ID doesn’t automatically change your address on your vehicle registration.
